The Monro Heritage Centre is a refurbished house (circa 1864), originally the home of surveyor and author, Alexander Monro, one of Port Elgin’s first prominent men. The two-storey museum houses a number of displays depicting local life over the past 200 years, including a model of old Fort Gaspareaux and a replica blacksmith’s forge.
