The Moncton Museum hosts various travelling exhibits as well as a permanent display that explores the history of Moncton from the days of the Mi’kmaq to the present day. The Free Meeting House, located beside the Museum, is one of the city’s oldest structures and is restored to its original 1821 style.

The Moncton Museum is closed to public visitation for a period of approximately 12 months beginning on Monday, February 27, 2012, in preparation for construction of the new Transportation Discovery Centre (TDC).
Special events and programming activities will continue at various offsite locations during the construction period. The children's Saturday morning workshop, Agent M, will temporarily move to the Thomas Williams House, located at 103 Park Street, starting in the spring 2012.
